	4:10pm spodiodi: i lost one of the 4 houseplants under my care in the past couple of weeks. have been scooting the others around, chasing the sunlight in an attempt revive the other 3 (and there exist pieces of the one i lost (safely growing outside, safe from my neglect), and it/they are only basil (from the grocery store too))

	4:14pm spodiodi: i did get a pretty nice suede jacket though (pre-vegan days) the basil that croaked was just sitting in an old pickle jar with water, and was denied light for weeks (what else could i expect?) it was thriving before it was split up and neglected. prior attempts to grow basil were thwarted by aphids. didn't realize it was fragile nor sensitive though... i guess i feel slightly less bad about it, knowing that now (plus, i can blame my s.o., who was supposed to be daling with it, before my intervention) :"

	4:22pm coelacanth∅: i don't know if basil can be grown hydroponically but at the very least it needs sunshine. but not too much! it's actually easy to grow; just it's sensitive. hates cold, hates too much heat, breaks easily

	4:25pm spodiodi: it had been in water only for months, and seemed to be getting by ok (i kept petitioning for dirt and a classier "pot"). now it's in the trash :~( i tried.

	4:42pm spodiodi: just a bit south, coel -- over 24 years in SF proper. was time for a change for a while (never thought i would have stayed there so long. expected 1-2 years then onward) it's been really good so far. a huge relief. sf has changed... a lot ... it's pretty sad

	4:45pm spodiodi: coel, it was hard to keep the move to myself (was worried about jinxing it). am relieved -- you saw the deer in our yard. took one of the buck yesterday morning. and he was at it again last night -- i think sharpening his rack against the house! we're just renting, but it's much more peaceful. went from drug-addled aggro-homeless throwing loaded needles to deer eating acorns

	4:14pm spodiodi: i did get a pretty nice suede jacket though (pre-vegan days) the basil that croaked was just sitting in an old pickle jar with water, and was denied light for weeks (what else could i expect?) it was thriving before it was split up and neglected. prior attempts to grow basil were thwarted by aphids. didn't realize it was fragile nor sensitive though... i guess i feel slightly less bad about it, knowing that now (plus, i can blame my s.o., who was supposed to be daling with it, before my intervention) :"
