Musical theater from off the beaten path. Obscure and unusual show tunes from within the canon and without, flops, failures, and the newest works from up-and-coming artists—plus tried-and-true hits. Also, occasional appearances from songs that are not show tunes (but only if they go really well with show tunes).

Welcome to the Acid Jazz Hands All Stars, where we count down the songwriters played most on the show to discover who takes home the crown of #1 Acid Jazz Hands All Star!!! Who will it be??? Guesses are welcome ;)

And so are PLEDGES!

I can't count. Nothing adds up these days. And I had no idea Mambo Italiano has musical connects.
Avatar 🎭 Swag For Life Member 7:12pm
diciassette:

I think there's a ~1950 movie called Mambo with Sylvana Mangano in it that I need to acquire
🎭 Swag For Life Member 7:13pm
WR:

Which goes to show that I am now learning of Bob Merrill.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14pm
Webhamster Henry:

Lerner & Loewe so far down the list? hmm!
Avatar 🎭 Swag For Life Member 7:16pm
diciassette:

Richard seems to be singing!
Avatar 7:17pm
Bronwyn Bishop:

@Henry: This song represents just Loewe- what I somehow forgot to factor in when I got this idea was that partners wouldn't necessarily have the same play count, so some people are being played twice. I have another Lerner & Loewe song much higher up to represent Lerner since I've played him more

Yay Overtime. Did you notify the "authorities" so that it will all be archived. I am still bummed that your 00s Dance Party show was not archived.
Avatar 7:33pm
Bronwyn Bishop:

I did and I actually am able to send the file of the 00s dance party to John our archiving guy to archive it, I just haven't cause I suck. But you have inspired me to do that today!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33pm
Webhamster Henry:

I saw Seesaw in 1973 - I thought it was awfully corny. It was the second show at the brand-new Uris theatre the first was Via Galactica). That place is now called the Gershwin.
  7:33pm
Doug Schulkind:

Happy anniversary, Bronwyn. What a wonderful year of fabulous radio!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm

However, Tommy Tune was great.
Avatar 7:34pm

My mom got to work with Tommy Tune once!! (i forget in what capacity)
Avatar 7:34pm

Aw thanks Doug!!! <3 so honored to be part of the wonderful Drummer Stream :)))

That era Tommy Tune is well captured in the movie "The Boy Friend".

Thanks for that because I would like to revisit the show but honestly don't want to "collect" the music in it.
Avatar 7:38pm

I also saw Seesaw in '73. But recollection of anything other than a simple image of Tommy dancing is at the brain's intresection of vague and lost.
Avatar 7:40pm

i wish i could have seen it :( or any of the 70s shows
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40pm

Avatar 7:43pm
Bronwyn Bishop:

To be fair, I also saw Hadestown and the amazing Oklahoma revival, and the Bob Dylan jukebox musical was weird and beautiful
