Artist Track Comments
The rules of the game are as follows: Employing a series of yes-or-no questions on this show's comments board, anyone and everyone who chooses to play may pose questions to determine the name of a predetermined song by a specific artist. (A WFMU account is not required, but having one will expedite gameplay.) The show's panel of judges will respond to any legitimate question in either the affirmative or the negative, which should serve the purpose of getting closer to the correct answer. If, at any time, the questions are determined to not be progressing gameplay, the host may exercise the option of providing a clue or clues to move the game along. The contestant who correctly names both the song and the performing artist in question wins the following grand prize: WFMU's brand-new Electric Cactus T-shirt (pictured above) in Hunter Green, in the size (S–XXL) and style (women's or men's cut) of their choosing. Two rounds will be played, one per hour, and if the correct answer is not guessed by 55 minutes after the hour, that round is declared over, with no prize awarded until the next round. Good luck!

there were no 1966 test pressings. even if an acetate got out, with two superstars in the band the stature of James and Young, how does that song not circulate until 6 months before the box set came out? Sorry dude.

Listener Robert:

Making it misleading was fun, because we knew you'd make it hard, but didn't know HOW. CC, "Lost" was also deliberately misleading, but unlike Gaylord, it didn't tell the truth -- the camera frequently showed things that weren't really happening, like an unreliable narrator.

Soon I'll be going from "Name that tune in my head" to "What's that lump in my bed?" G'night and thanks for the fun.

@Joe B I have it on CD on a some sort of compilation also, but I know that was released much more recently. I remember calling the guy I know when I got the comp and I said someone put your test pressings on a comp.

Neil Young, one of the most bootlegged artists of all time, was in a band with funk superstar Rick James in 1966, and no one bothered to circulate the track from a test pressing for 39 years. Got it.
