I remember one time, I was a kid, and a guest brought dessert. I was really looking forward having that dessert, I was imagining the most glorious chocolate cake from the bakery (it was in France, so, good cakes galore). The disappointment on my face when at the end of lunch they opened the cake box... to a simple strawberry tart. I didn’t even like strawberry at the time. It was a long, sad, Sunday afternoon.
