Make it more expensive for foreign artists to come in and more bookings are available for Americans. It's also keeping out foreign perspectives. It's an attempt to close the culture and it's very frightening.

Those patterns - geographic separation, need for control, penalties for free thought, commitment to manipulation, and obsession with youth... all of those are present in the Big Tech companies in Silicon Valley. Google reportedly is building its own sealed-off town so that its (young) employees can stay under the watchful eye of their employer 24/7.

We planned to meet his partner at 59th and 8th -- and were so confused we forgot there IS NO 59th and 8th! Found her eventually in Columbus Circle and walked across the Queensboro to home.

We planned to meet his partner at 59th and 8th -- and were so confused we forgot there IS NO 59th and 8th! Found her eventually in Columbus Circle and walked across the Queensboro to home.
