Handy, isn't it weird when something surfaces from your very early years like that? I might remember TV stations from that early, but I don't think I had radio awareness till I was 7 or so.

Avatar 🧩 Swag For Life Member 3:16pm
Handy Haversack:

Kat, somehow when very young I ended with a radio that also picked up TV signals! So there was a lot of messing around with the dials on that thing. Plus: cars. One spent a lot of time in cars.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm
Woo:

radio awareness-I like that. I got mine as a child in early 1967. That was a good time to get it. I just used my transistor radio during a power outage and it reminded me of then. Except the AM stations don't play music anymore.

Avatar 🧩 Swag For Life Member 3:19pm
Ike:

@Handy, you mean a radio that had VHF TV audio? There were a lot of those back in the day because TV channels 2-6 used to be right below the FM band (the audio of channel 6 was ~87.75 FM) and 7-13 used to be right above the FM band. So radio makers just had to expand the FM dial a little bit to "get" TV audio. With digital TV that's no longer the case, of course.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm
Matt Fiveash:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm

Arecibo telescope telescope is damaged. 'Wishing Well' reminded me of the last shot of a 'Connections' episode from a camera that was dropped from the detector to the ground far below.
