	10:02pm sim: That's more exciting than my story. I was installing media playing software in linux, like VLC, but probably mplayer. And WFMU was one of the only choices listed.

I discoverd in a YouTube comments conversation. I was listening to some crazy experimental stuff and the writer was complaining about “where is the radio that plays this stuff!?” And someone said “ WFMU , duh. I went to school in Nyc a million years ago and thought the radio was great but never new it was moose probably Wfmu.

	10:03pm Wendy del Formaggio: I discovered WFMU when I was a very young teenager, bored with the radio, flipping the dial to the left. Someone was playing "Billy the Mountain" by Frank Zappa, and I had never heard anything like that before, so I stuck around. The following week I happened to be in NYC at Rocks In Your Head and there was a stack of LCDs (WFMU's former magazine/printed program guide). This was in 1986 or 1987.

Fun fact: The Crosley Icy Ball is a 1927 refrigerator design that uses no moving parts. Basically you heat one end over an open fire for 30 minutes to recharge it and it will cool a big box for 48 hours

I lifted the pot from the red-hot stove surface and the paper on the bottom of the pot caught fire. Luckily, that was it. Didn't burn the kitchen down. I suppose the paper had explicit instructions saying to remove before use.

Lesson: Be bold and tell your story, sometimes you only get one chance.

The following week I happened to be in NYC at Rocks In Your Head and there was a stack of LCDs (WFMU's former magazine/printed program guide). This was in 1986 or 1987.

I lifted the pot from the red-hot stove surface and the paper on the bottom of the pot caught fire. Luckily, that was it. Didn't burn the kitchen down. I suppose the paper had explicit instructions saying to remove before use.
