@RevRabbit: Continuing the conversation from Gaylord's page... Yes, Rough Francis is really fun to see live! They played on or around my birthday in Florence (MA) a bunch of years ago. What a great show.

@phat, I do, too. Since lockdown, I don't go to any of my favorite places in Mass., such as Turners Falls, Northampton, Greenfield, Easthampton, etc. I guess some places are open there, but I'm not willing to take the risk until it's really safe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@Wendy: Yeah - & @ Tinderbox I saw J. Mascis's metaloid band Witch in which he only plays drums... Pardon - what is the great record store - right across from where that was, isn't it? Brattleboro so far has seemed really kewl to me...

WR:

Hi Wendy, have been meaning to write to tell you how very much I enjoyed your segment about local tomatoes on the wake & bake show a few weeks ago. I was shopping for tomatoes at the same time, and heard the segment just as I was waiting for my 3rd store visited that morning to open. And they did have some decent local tomatoes. Anyway loved your segment.

@RevRabbit: Witch is awesome! I saw them the same place I saw Rough Francis. I've known the lead singer/guitarist's family for decades. Brattleboro is a small town!

Are you talking about In The Moment? They're almost all vinyl. The CD/LP shop is Turn It Up.

Wendy del Formaggio:

@phat: I guess I'm hijacking the comments page or whatever, so I'll sign off with parting words for you. I hope it's safe for you to go back to Florence soon. It's such a sweet town. last time I checked, there were 2 record stores, including Feeding Tube's retail outpost, and a really good Chinese restaurant: Great Wall. And of course Miss Flo's, with the fun music venue upstairs. Anyway, take care and see you soon on another playlist page.

WFMU noob here - I noticed earlier that the playlist and chat functions were disabled during the Glen Jones program. Any reason why that is? And are there other shows that don’t have the chat going?

I'm sorry y'all but that's a big dif I see between the east and west in the US. The east is way behind on trash, recycling, litter, etc. I implore all to encourage more responsibility. My 2cents!

I try to keep my little patch of land clean and hospitable to the wildlife and not worry too much about the destruction everywhere else. I try to avoid buying single use plastic as much as I can, it's nearly all unrecyclable.
Avatar 11:18pm
ottovonbqe:

Saw a good documentary about plastic recently - it's actually due to the lobbying of the fossil fuel industry that there is so much plastic food packaging. It's depressing, the lengths they go to create a market for substance that can only be moved around or burned into smaller particles.
