Kate and were driving around listening to this (and the other Exbats album -- and Juniper for that matter!) and wondering if Inez uses any backup singers live. Do you know, Joe B?

On Sat, Mike said "I failed as a parent" after Juniper confessed that she liked a Journey song. My favorite part of the show. I failed too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm Mike Sin:

The shore itself has been great, folks are cool on the sand with keeping distance there and in the water. My wife got a surfboard this year, so we've headed down there at 7am, and it's been great. Mike Sin, a friend of mine from here in NYC reported feeling totally crowded and unsafe on the beach down the shore. Maybe just different beaches have different mindsets? They actually retreated to NYC rather than deal with the crowds and closeness.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm Rob W:

Thanks for the Jersey Shore social distancing beach report Joe and Mike! Katie and I can report that Brighton Beach, Brooklyn is a bit of a mixed bag. We are fairly easily able to follow social distancing rules ourselves. Even at busy times the beach is un-crowded enough that there is room to set up a blanket many feet away from the next person. But not everyone is living up to their social responsibilities, I would say, so it can get annoying (if arguably not really unsafe) close to and in the water when it gets crowded. Our solution is to get there very early (like 8 am!). And weekday early mornings are fabulous. We have not sat down to dine - but one thing about Brighton Beach: Amazing take-out options from all over the former USSR and Poland (and Pakistan and Mexico too if you go a couple more blocks inland!).

One of my parents had the "Live" single when I was a kid, so I've known it for ages. The Bangles cover was a real calling card, I thought. Never went that deep on the Merry-Go-Round or his solo stuff, though, nice tribute Joe.
Avatar 2:25pm VincentNifigance:

@AndyFuchs thanks so much, all I could find for years was a Spanish trailer! Will track that down.

I remember hearing and loving Face on the Floor when it came out. Not surprisingly (and ignorantly), I figured he was an English artist on Apple. I also scored a copy of the first LP after decades of bin-diving .

Wow! I love this Sergeant X Comrade

Blah Blah Blah was the first Iggy I ever owned. I had it on tape. I should revisit it. Hearing Family Affair made me wonder what an Nile Rodgers produced Iggy album would have sounded like.
Avatar 2:43pm Tim In SF:

@Joe B...yeah Pirates is funny. Even funnier is when I enlarged your avatar...Don Knotts. Never noticed it before...too small, both the avatar and my eye balls.

Max Bennett suggested Fever to Miss Brenda Lee.
A lot like Joe Osborn suggested Travelin Man to Rick Nelson.

It feels useful that I now know how to say "I have a fever" in German.

Oh, it is Don Knotts, hah! Or, what Mick Jagger would've looked like if he'd been a small-town Southern sheriff's deputy. cheezburger.com...

Playing a lot of stuff that makes me wish I still had a record store. Nothing I liked better than turning people on to new stuff. I just looked up Emitt Rhodes and Merry Go Round stuff, on LP and CD, and the online prices are pretty high. Looks like most of his stuff is OOP.

The Knotts picture is from the Disney film "Gus"? I know it mainly from its reference in the Bob Crane biopic "Auto Focus".

The “Like a Rolling Stone” parody mag made a great Mick/Knotts connection, I’ve never been ae to look at Mick the same since—esp when he’s tricked out Mr. Furley-style in the SOME GIRLS era w Jiffypop cap and duct taped Hefty bag pantaloons. Looks like he’s ready to mingle at the Regal Beagle
