	12:42pm Ike: IDK about NJ, but in NY if you don't get your ballot in the mail, you're allowed to vote in person instead. Just mask yourself up and glove it. I voted early on Sunday in person and there was huge social distancing and plastic barriers in vast gymnasium, so not much danger.

It always seems a little "self-congratulatory" or like a little kid with a "I did my homework" or "I only had 2 cavities and the dentist said I do a good job of brushing." But I always vote.

On the river, nothing besides the usual cormorants, laughing gulls, black-backed gulls, herring gulls, ring-beaked gulls, etc. (Not dismissing them -- just nothing unexpected!) Did I send you the pix of the nesting and baby cormorants? Heading out later on to an inlet -- hoping the night herons are around. We voted by mail. Kind of anticlimactic. And the dog did not get his fair share of adulation.

We saw an osprey nest that had a few babies (ospreylets?) this weekend. I'll see if we can head over tonight and get a pic and send it along. However, it's all about the fish lately -- small fry are everywhere, small catfish and perch are biting, big old snakehead parking himself by the pier once or twice a week. All good!
	😬 1:15pm YETI BOB: @Snooch: I really don't want to get into any arguments with you or anyone here, but you said my viewpoint is "dangerous" and so I feel I must reply. I think there's been far too much emphasis on calling out people for "virtue signaling", being "SJW's", etc, and I think that energy is seriously misdirected. To me, Trumpism is far more dangerous than anything else and I wish the people who were opposed to him would stop picking fights with each other - it's how the left always loses. It seems that somehow the right-wingers don't have this problem with factionalism, or at least not to the same extent. We need to pull together and fight the rising wave of populist/white-nationalist neofascism. It's as serious as anything has ever been in my lifetime. To me, Trumpism is a real threat (people's lives are on the line!), whereas the "Twitter mob", "virtue signaling", the "PC police", etc, are made-up threats (perceived threats to "free thinking" or "free speech", which aren't really under attack). I'm trying to articulate a point of view here - something I've been thinking about for a few days... I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but please just think about it.

If you think it is important to vote for a candidate because you think it is the right choice and cause then by all means you absolutely should vote for whoever the candidate is. Thats how our great country functions. What i do think is dangerous (and i should have been more clear on my last post) is people being reminded to vote because of a sticker, or instagram etc, and voting for a candidate because the woke audience, SJW, whatever term you want to call them has deemed the candidate "correct". I graduated college somewhat recently and i do have to say, there is for sure a certain establishment of thinking in place. and if you happen to voice any sort of opposing viewpoint you are struck down and instant ostracized. Again im not trying to take any one side in this, or say that your point is wrong or dangerous. Idk i just think sometimes people are too quick to stand behind their sticker, say they voted, and feel darn good about themselves while otherwise doing nothing. Anyway thats enough from me. However, we have a dead tree hanging over our house and we're having trouble finding an arborist willing to cut it down, so they're making me a little nervous for the time being. We have to go through our county and the state DNR to do anything more aggressive than mowing the lawn which adds to the hassle factor.

Otherwise I'm never paying to ever set foot in that place ever ever again.

Did I send you the pix of the nesting and baby cormorants? Heading out later on to an inlet -- hoping the night herons are around. We voted by mail. Kind of anticlimactic. And the dog did not get his fair share of adulation.

I think there's been far too much emphasis on calling out people for "virtue signaling", being "SJW's", etc, and I think that energy is seriously misdirected. To me, Trumpism is far more dangerous than anything else and I wish the people who were opposed to him would stop picking fights with each other - it's how the left always loses. It seems that somehow the right-wingers don't have this problem with factionalism, or at least not to the same extent. We need to pull together and fight the rising wave of populist/white-nationalist neofascism. It's as serious as anything has ever been in my lifetime. To me, Trumpism is a real threat (people's lives are on the line!), whereas the "Twitter mob", "virtue signaling", the "PC police", etc, are made-up threats (perceived threats to "free thinking" or "free speech", which aren't really under attack). I'm trying to articulate a point of view here - something I've been thinking about for a few days... I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but please just think about it.

What i do think is dangerous (and i should have been more clear on my last post) is people being reminded to vote because of a sticker, or instagram etc, and voting for a candidate because the woke audience, SJW, whatever term you want to call them has deemed the candidate "correct". I graduated college somewhat recently and i do have to say, there is for sure a certain establishment of thinking in place. and if you happen to voice any sort of opposing viewpoint you are struck down and instant ostracized. Otherwise I'm never paying to ever set foot in that place ever ever again.
