Papito:
Rosemary, Orlanda and Perry are definitely innocent of all crimes and charges! I'll be waiting their release, sitting in my cherry red Mustang at the prison exit gates!
Fool's Paradise was already providing an excellent soundtrack to the extremely awkward mourning dove courting going on back here, but this tune is a capper!
I used to get flyers from a local grocery - 10 lbs of neck bones, 5 lbs of pickle meat, 5 lbs hot sausage, 5 lbs pork steaks and you get a free case of Milwaukee's Best
Listening from the upper deck of luxurious Shea. Good view of the Fair but the Mets are getting blanked by a very sharp Gaylord Perry. Not sure who's starting the nightcap.
@Rex: Joe Pignatano is fertilizing the vegetable garden today, so those sitting downwind of the Mets bullpen are forewarned.

David in London:
Gaylord, what was Fogerty like in person? I saw him live here in London a couple of years ago, doing the CCR songbook, and it was an absolute awesome show. And thanks for the 1971 and 1972 show links you gave me a couple of weeks back, outstanding shows both.
@David: This was during a phone interview at my former day job, and we spent more time talking about cool old R&B 45, including the Leaders' greatest moment, than whatever project he was plugging. It was like hanging out with an old friend. Top three people, when it comes to personability, that I ever interviewed.
Downpour and there's trouble with the tarp. Westrum and Doug Harvey really getting into it. Maybe because the mound is a mess and they still have a second game to play.
@David: They aren't always, I don't think I need to tell you! But what's equally rewarding is when ones you don't admire are good guys, like James Taylor. Similar to my experience with Fogerty, we talked more about baseball than his snoozy songs.
Gaylord. I once interviewed a musician, how shall we say, who was filed under the ‘now a cult, but never achieved as much in their day as they should have’ and he was such a taciturn and monosyllabic bugger that I’d couldn’t help but think “Hmmm, maybe there’s at least a partial explanation of that lack of success here”....
