	12:56am coelacanth∅: Scott, wouldn't that distinction go to autobahn? i don't know the radio-activity album well, but as all the instrumentation is electronic, autobahn is the last album with "organic" instrumentation -and electronics.
	12:58am JakeGould: Wolfgang Flür on the band: “Ralf had a kind of German idea in mind. Germany also needed something like The Beach Boys. Something with self-understanding and immaculate presence, after the ugly wars that our parents had inflicted on the world. Something positive and youthful, that freed us from the stench of the past.”
	12:59am Scott Williams: @coel, that's true, but on a subjective level Radioactivity has much more emotional heft for me.

	1:02am Scott Williams: @Jake, that's a good quote, but most of Wolfgang's statements need to be taken with a grain of salt. He's appointed himself Ralf & Florian's interpreter to an artless world, somewhat bitterly, and against their wishes

	1:07am JakeGould: @Scott: True. I like the fact that at least Ralf and a Florian fully and artfully maintained their mystery. Yet still created music for the people.
	1:07am ultradamno: I stand resolute as a Ralf & Florian partisan. But it's all really good.
	1:08am coelacanth∅: Wolfgang did leave bitter; but i have read that Florian, at least, was acutely aware of the world viewing them as "german" and potentially identifying them with aspects of german history that they'd like to not be associated with.
	1:09am ultradamno: Plus, weren't they talking about The Stooges and Velvet Underground in terms of 'energy' a lot. Or at least for a quote I'm at least half remembering.
	1:11am coelacanth∅: the stooges were Ralf's favorite band...or was it Florian's?
	1:11am JakeGould: The best way to look at Kraftwerk is to look at them as art rock. They did the same thing that Robert Fripp did: They saw the prog world, said, “Nah… Gotta do something new.” and they did it. Experimental, art, dance and hip hop were all influenced by them.

	1:14am ultradamno: Plus, I'm pretty sure Björk's sex 'bot video is a direct homage. OK, I'm being coy, I know it's All Is Full Of Love. And The Residents Krafty Cheese from Duck Stab/Buster & Glen is one of their homages.
