Hope you enjoy this special "encore" edition of Fool's Paradise!
Avatar 1:02pm DJ Guin:

Wouldn't it be cool if the WFMU staff's fill-ins were real Skeletons? or at least Skeletor©?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm dave wuz here:

is it live? or is it memoREX?

Hello Rex and WFMU listeners!
Thank you all for being here!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm JohnEBGood:

Hi Rex and FMU family. It's WFMU 24/7 for most of us!! lol
  1:11pm egould310:

Momma!!

Greetings from chilly, gray Seattle.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Any room in that fur-line fallout shelter, miles below the earth's crust?
Avatar 1:12pm DJ Guin:

You want a COVID-19 Update? Go listen to those other jerkoffs. FMU is like a itchy blanket on a sweltering summer day. Reruns are better than THE runs.
  1:12pm Papito:

Rex is isolated at his home with CORONA...the BEER!
Avatar 1:14pm Rex:

Room for everyone in the Fur-Lined Fallout Shelter! Bring snacks!
Avatar 1:15pm DJ Guin:

"All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine."
Avatar 1:15pm Juke Joint Jonny:

Possum!
  1:16pm AbeSomething:

Hey Rex, got a question from a dedicated listener, my 8yo daughter: Where is the clip about the woman dying and radio mysteriously stopping from? Thanks!
Avatar 1:18pm Rex:

Juke Joint Jonny - You mean Buck Owens! You now have one demerit point.
Avatar 1:19pm DJ Guin:

Q. Why was the 4 yr. old Anti-Vaxxer child crying?

A. They were experiencing a midlife crisis.
Avatar 1:19pm Rex:

Abe- That clip is from a high school mental hygiene about a neglected kid who becomes a JD...from the 50s...can't remember the title...
Avatar 1:20pm Juke Joint Jonny:

Oops
  1:20pm Paul D:

Hello from Bloomfield y'all.
Avatar 1:21pm Rex:

Howdy Paul!
  1:21pm egould310:

This is the part of the show where the songs get racist. And always against Native Americans.
Avatar 1:22pm Rex:

Jonny - Think about some extra credit projects you can do after school to raise your GPA...
Avatar 1:22pm Juke Joint Jonny:

Accordion is an underutilized element in jump blues, and that's a shame.
  1:23pm Listener Robert:

Mr. Cerf was also credited on National Lampoon Radio Hour recordings.
  1:24pm AbeSomething:

Thanks, Rex. That’s enough info to know we aren’t ever gonna find it, even with the title!
Avatar 1:24pm Juke Joint Jonny:

If'n it don't have a accordion it's not rock 'n' roll in my book.
Avatar 🌮 1:25pm Mailman Tom:

  1:44pm Dave Miss:

Are used to be a guy who’s nuts who would walk around the French quarter in New Orleans and going to the bars and start screaming “why are you serving all these women“ I think that song from Michael Perkins is exactly that guy.
  1:47pm Papito:

The Fire is melting my Turquoise colored Bakelite kitchen radio ! HOT HOT HOT !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm Handy Haversack:

Welcome aboard Amira! Say "hey" to Hollywood for me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm Handy Haversack:

A WAB Glistener had mentioned she lives in my neighborhood and would be in front of her bldg. today giving away rescued and extra plants, so we stopped and talked to her for a good while and walked away with like seven plants! It felt, as you say, David, deliciously exotic to be out in the sunlight, seeing other people, letting the dog claim ownership of some errant lamp posts.
  1:59pm John from Florham park:

Hey DIL
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm Handy Haversack:

Oh, and she had Michael Shelley playing on her phone, of course!
  2:02pm John from Florham park:

@Handy anyone I know?
  2:03pm David in London:

Handy, John, we have a bookshop chain called Waterstones here, and the lady I chatted to in there said that their policy will be to stay open until the government tells them to close. They staff all had masks and gloves, very reasonable, and it felt like a little oasis of sanity on the edge of lockdown darkness.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm Handy Haversack:

@John: Knormalish? I think usually she's commuting during WAB, but recently, obvs., she's been more on the accu.
Avatar 2:03pm kyle a.:

thanks for keeping the torch burning, rex! we're looking at a government sanction dark shadows marathon next week.

  6:08am Ben:

I don't remember the 45, but here in the UK I do remember the Penguin dance craze. My Mum and Dad had a house party and they were all doing it at 3 am. A neighbour filmed it but I don't know what happened to the footage. They were doing it to the B side of Joe Loss' "Must Be Madison" Which was nothing like the Madison either but hey.
  5:38pm Ryan:

omg he wrote and sang "One Way" on sesame street??
