	7:16pm Gary: Now that I don't have a 4-hour-a-day commute, I feel normal again, ironically, given the situation. I've been cooking more, reading more, limiting TV updates
	7:19pm TDK60: I'm not bored whatsoever. Books, magazines, LPs, tapes, WFMU, guitar, oh yeah--internet; it's just the "stir crazy" thing.

	7:20pm LambdaCalculus: I've got books, tons of music, internet, my Super Famicom, my old computers, and plenty of movies, WFMU, and cookbooks and gardening!
	7:21pm melinda: Today was the first day I started to feel like I was catching up on home stuff, like organizing things in my kitchen. I still have a ton of stuff to unpack and clean since moving back into my house post-mold.

	🇰🇷 7:22pm WR: I've been working from home for about 2 years. So personally the only personal difference now is that I go to the grocery store at 7AM or 11PM to avoid crowd. It took 1.5 week but I finally scored toilet paper this morning so all set to continue shelter in place except for periodic milk and egg replenishment. Oh, one difference, my partner is now working from home. It's been a week now. So far so good with us being in the apartment all the time together. With the real possibility of this going on for several months I assume we will have new opportunities for growth in the relationship...

	7:29pm TDK60: Yes, the small groceries, delis, bodegas are open. Often more well stocked than the big supermarkets. I thanked my bakery-deli workers the other day when I got croissants. In Spanish.
	🇰🇷 7:35pm chresti: The worrisome part for me is that people can be out and around unawares they have it, and not taking precautions. The irritating part is the hoarding and shortages.
	7:37pm TDK60: Rest assured I have been /extremely/ angry about the situation in its political dimension. I will not bring up specifics at this time.
	7:37pm LambdaCalculus: The hoarding is the worst. Especially when it comes to food. Unless you're cooking for an army, I don't see any real reason why anyone would need to buy 144 eggs or 20 gallons of milk!
	7:38pm melinda: @chresti yeah. Normally I find walking in my neighborhood a decent antidote to stress but lately I find myself getting anxious when I pass someone and we don't have 6 feet between us.
	7:39pm LambdaCalculus: My local Portuguese supermarket thankfully has had plenty of good food available. Plenty of good, fresh fruits and veggies, plenty of good, freshly baked bread, lots of fresh meat, and lots of other tasty delectables.
	7:40pm melinda: Even if people only shop for a few weeks supplies, when a lot of people do that it depletes reserves.

	8:03pm ParUbi: About coffee filters: "Coffee filters only allow for the escape of particles smaller than 10-15 microns, that is the same for common surgical masks. It can't stop viruses but it can stop aerosolized particles that contain viruses such as could be spread through coughing and sneezing. In short if everyone wore a coffee filter on their face it would help stop the spread of COVID-19."

But since some expert sources were telling people otherwise and that only people with symptoms should wear them, it makes anyone with a mask look like they're sick. And if you put a coffee filter on your face you might look like a sick person doing a bad job of protecting.

	8:18pm doctorjazz: There just still aren't enough masks around for medical offices and hospitals (at least in NY). We were given 2 masks, no gowns a week ago, told to be very careful with them. About a week and a half later, got 2 more masks, 1 gown, again asked to be careful with them.

	7:15pm TDK60: One aspect has been irritation with certain people outside who are not taking this seriously. Most do seem to be tho.
	7:16pm Gary: Now that I don't have a 4-hour-a-day commute, I feel normal again, ironically, given the situation. I've been cooking more, reading more, limiting TV updates
	7:19pm TDK60: I'm not bored whatsoever. Books, magazines, LPs, tapes, WFMU, guitar, oh yeah--internet; it's just the "stir crazy" thing.

	7:20pm LambdaCalculus: I've got books, tons of music, internet, my Super Famicom, my old computers, and plenty of movies, WFMU, and cookbooks and gardening!
	7:21pm melinda: Today was the first day I started to feel like I was catching up on home stuff, like organizing things in my kitchen. I still have a ton of stuff to unpack and clean since moving back into my house post-mold.

	🇰🇷 7:22pm WR: I've been working from home for about 2 years. So personally the only personal difference now is that I go to the grocery store at 7AM or 11PM to avoid crowd. It took 1.5 week but I finally scored toilet paper this morning so all set to continue shelter in place except for periodic milk and egg replenishment. Oh, one difference, my partner is now working from home. It's been a week now. So far so good with us being in the apartment all the time together. With the real possibility of this going on for several months I assume we will have new opportunities for growth in the relationship...

	7:29pm TDK60: Yes, the small groceries, delis, bodegas are open. Often more well stocked than the big supermarkets. I thanked my bakery-deli workers the other day when I got croissants. In Spanish.
	🇰🇷 7:35pm chresti: The worrisome part for me is that people can be out and around unawares they have it, and not taking precautions. The irritating part is the hoarding and shortages.
	7:37pm TDK60: Rest assured I have been /extremely/ angry about the situation in its political dimension. I will not bring up specifics at this time.
	7:37pm LambdaCalculus: The hoarding is the worst. Especially when it comes to food. Unless you're cooking for an army, I don't see any real reason why anyone would need to buy 144 eggs or 20 gallons of milk!
	7:38pm melinda: @chresti yeah. Normally I find walking in my neighborhood a decent antidote to stress but lately I find myself getting anxious when I pass someone and we don't have 6 feet between us.
	7:39pm LambdaCalculus: My local Portuguese supermarket thankfully has had plenty of good food available. Plenty of good, fresh fruits and veggies, plenty of good, freshly baked bread, lots of fresh meat, and lots of other tasty delectables.
	7:40pm melinda: Even if people only shop for a few weeks supplies, when a lot of people do that it depletes reserves.

It can't stop viruses but it can stop aerosolized particles that contain viruses such as could be spread through coughing and sneezing. In short if everyone wore a coffee filter on their face it would help stop the spread of COVID-19."

But since some expert sources were telling people otherwise and that only people with symptoms should wear them, it makes anyone with a mask look like they're sick. And if you put a coffee filter on your face you might look like a sick person doing a bad job of protecting.

People around me are losing their shit when I sneeze, because A) not only do I sneeze so loud that everyone in NYC can hear me, and B) I could potentially knock a small house down, but because any kind of sneezing or coughing is considered "OHMYGOD YOU'RE INFECTED!!!", even when I DO tell people it's just my allergies.
