Hello Devon. I'm so bummed that I'll have to bail soon but I'd like to share a couple of thoughts with Stuart Sweezey. I can't wait to see this documentary. I wish I could go back in time to see all the shows he put on. It's super inspiring to me that Stuart put on shows in unique places, with unique sounds outside of the typical limiting bar/club/rental space. Thank you for doing what you did.

Wow, Popul Vuh? 1988. I had surgery at Mass General in Boston, I'd wake up at 2 AM when the pain meds wore off and while I was waiting for my next shot, I'd listen to the MIT radio station and this song came on. Maybe it was the pain and meds but I thought it was incredible. I waited to hear the playlist, which was quite long, and thought it was Dead Can Dance so when I came back to NY bought up all the Dead Can Dance I could find. I loved it but this song wasn't by them. It was years before I found it - or thought I did but right now I think I never did find it, this is the right one. Now that I know the name I can probably find it now. Very grateful. I must sound very strange.

@ultradamno: Damn you I was about to post about the “Hong Kong Café!”

“When Bill Hong said yes to the promoters, he was trying to be practical. He knew the restaurant needed more customers; maybe letting a few young bands play could help bring them in. He never could’ve foreseen that his family’s establishment, the Hong Kong Low—located on a small street called Gin Ling Way—would become a focal point for a seminal music scene: West Coast punk.”
