I bought the album, "Curtis", the day before the summer stage accident. It was literally the first 'soul/R&B' album I ever bought, and when I heard the news, I but the album on repeat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:21pm
KimSorise:

Wow! It’s a stunner of an LP for sure. Such a tragedy.
Avatar 8:22pm
northguineahills:

episode clicky-starred!

errr.. I put the album on repeat.... (wow , I was still a 'kid' back then).

I hear that chresti!

No, I actually was technically a kid.

Brain is scrambled, I bought it the day before he died. I'm temporally discombobulated.

Ditto NGH @8:22 (the clicky star part)! Loaded my clicky start finger...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:35pm

Ugh - Is it still clicky? Mine is solid - still

Got my mop bucket from my back porch, looks like a lizard fell in and couldn't get out, and starved to death (it's not like we don't have a surplus of invasive anoles here anyways, but, they keep the insect population down.

Doug Schulkind:

[Been working quietly in the back]. Missing the beautiful Curtis more than ever. I was living in Brooklyn, not too far from the scene of his awful accident in '90. Thank you for this glorious and loving presentation, Kim!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm
KimSorise:

True - I am thankful for the little lizard friends in my yard but I think they are skinks
Avatar 8:56pm
northguineahills:

@Doug: Now that my brain is online, I read about Curtis's accident in Newsweek (I had no idea who was or what a Summer Stage was, I was in junior high), but it made an impression on me, so when I got into music in HS, I kept an ear out, and slowly got into funk in college, and then I finally got Curtis, and it changed my life.

Thanks, Kim, I needed this aural salve!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57pm
KimSorise:

Thank you, Doug, and I am thankful for legacy that he left us all.
