There have been studies and theses done on the correlation (without causation) across time between types of concert audience hand-held illumination devices and prevalance and length of fringe worn by stage performers.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:18pm
Phillippe Bastille:

Likely a very large Venn diagram overlap on the fringe/match portion of the study
Avatar 🦇 12:19pm
Julie:

gotta keep the fringe out of the way of the tambourine/hand movements as well!

Usually make nothing of my birthday, but that got be bummerish in recent years. So for LX last summer I decided I'd get a few friends together and DO something. One friend took over, put on a party that everyone agreed was a good one, not wild but just good. And despite the usual attempt to prevent, there were bottles and other nice presents given. All in all, great. Maybe a once-a-decade thing going forward.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:36pm

Still b/p, I favor the Patton Oswalt theory ("U are only allowed 20 birthdays", which see) that, after 21, only the touchstone decade birthdays count. I differ from Patton in that I think the 5 birthdays (25, 35, 45 etc) should also count.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm

How about "I wanna Buy Me a Dog"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm
coelacanth∅:

yes true Julie.

glenn i border on politeness sometimes...but no i got confused that "X" meant 100 (which is "C" i think) but then i clearly got the whole system off.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm
coelacanth∅:

i think "dog" is Dolenz?
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:48pm

I take off from work on my birthdays, loudly announce the occasion to all, and indulge myself. Only holiday worth a good damn.
Avatar 12:56pm
Carmichael:

"dog" is awful.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm
coelacanth∅:

a girlfriend once got very upset, angry, that i rebelled against celebrating my birthday - that she's celebrating that i'd been born and exist and don't take that from her. i got "better" about my birthdays for a few years after that but have since reverted to my ...old ways.
- still, i like celebrating others' birthdays and am glad that some people make a new year celebration of their anniversaries.
Avatar 🦇 12:56pm
Julie:

I think there are generational differences (as well as cultural)., I find younger people much more vocal about their birthdays and all "It's my birthday WEEK or month."

i bought sell out a few years later and loved it (still do) but usually skipped that song, until i finally learned to love it.
