	9:43am The Oscar: When I was a kid one of my best friends' parents raised Pekingese. One time I accompanied them to a dog show in Westminster, Massachusetts, which led me to believe for YEARS that I had attended the Westminster Dog Show.

	10:08am Crudbringer: The last disappointing takeout coffee I had came in a paper cup... but the snap-on plastic lid was 1962 hospital basement pseudo-teal (not a trendy mid-century modern aqua, it was an institutional color), and there were promotional materials attached to the side of the cup. I was NONPLUSSED.

	10:18am Trouble: when wfmu moved into this building in the late 90's there was nothing here except a truly sub par 24 hour diner, and an italian deli that closed very early in the afternoon. there are now a few chains, and you know what that means. so yes to me this area is a coffee dessert. which is fine by me, since i am a big fan of bringing my own. that works great, except when it doesn't

	10:26am Rich in Washington: One of the first things I did when DJing at KBOO was break NOT ONE but BOTH of the (restaurant style) coffee pots while doing the dishes late one Friday night. Imagining the poor early morning Bluegrass/Country DJs white-knuckling it without coffee made me feel terrible, so I immediately found replacements at some restaurant supply house and returned them. I was worried it would curse my presence there. Terrible.
	10:27am Passaic River Blues: @Melinda: I find that's my favorite method, too (though I will also deign to consume swill--caffeine addiction often trumps considerations of taste). And there's no shortage of excellent coffee in Portland, ME! I wonder what are Trouble's favorite coffee varieties and methods of preparation.
	10:29am queems: i reeeeeally like drinking coffee out of paper cups. i bought one of those ceramic cups that looks like a paper cup but it isn't the same. today i opted for this big ass handmade mug with a weird cat on it that i got for 99 cents at a salvation army

	10:30am steveo: at my office we are blessed with an Eye-talian automatic espresso machine which grinds on the fly .. very nice. i usually dilute it ("coffee" setting) to make it last a little longer.

Two of the 3 pour-over coffee places in town favor the light roasts, which I'm less fond of, but I have developed an appreciation for them even if it's not my standard brew. Also, I will even drink decaf swill sometimes (I am caffeine-sensitive), just to have a coffee-like hot beverage. I bought a jar of Sanka when I was in JC for marathon last year!

	11:13am melinda: If you don't have snow plows and sand trucks maintaining the roads even a couple of inches can cause chaos, and it makes sense to shut everything down. Several years ago we had a minor snowfall that the road maintainers didn't get ahead of for some reason and all the traffic packed it down into ice. Cars went off the road, a 10-minute commute turned into 45+ minutes, and I even saw one police car crash into another. Madness.

	10:26am Rich in Washington: One of the first things I did when DJing at KBOO was break NOT ONE but BOTH of the (restaurant style) coffee pots while doing the dishes late one Friday night. Imagining the poor early morning Bluegrass/Country DJs white-knuckling it without coffee made me feel terrible, so I immediately found replacements at some restaurant supply house and returned them. I was worried it would curse my presence there. Terrible.

And there's no shortage of excellent coffee in Portland, ME! I wonder what are Trouble's favorite coffee varieties and methods of preparation.

	11:13am melinda: If you don't have snow plows and sand trucks maintaining the roads even a couple of inches can cause chaos, and it makes sense to shut everything down. Several years ago we had a minor snowfall that the road maintainers didn't get ahead of for some reason and all the traffic packed it down into ice. Cars went off the road, a 10-minute commute turned into 45+ minutes, and I even saw one police car crash into another. Madness.
