"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

@crateslinger. Sounds good. It must be a unit construction then as the A50/A65 came out around 63/64. Single carb I would imagine.
My first motorcycle was a 1960 BSA 650 Golden Flash with sidecar. 637 YMY was the reg, some things you never forget.

Now I just potter around on a Honda CB500.

Brian you are correct. Unit tranny, single Mikuni carb. I'm probably going to double that down the road. My first real bike was a lowered pre-unit 57 tiger. Love to have that one back.

Re: Cyrnai, I stumbled randomly across a record by her old band Trial last year, really good peace punk/ sorta death rock circa 1986. Moments Of Collapse is the title. I had no idea who she was but then saw she had all this music after that.

crateslinger. I did hasve an A65 kneeler outfit but it was too expensive to race. you need a sponsor for that game.

Definitely in the 'modern classics' camp. That triumph street twin is an Object Of Desire at this point.

As for that safety note: having been a city bicycle commuter since forever, I'm calling it a massive upgrade.
  11:45am
Brendan:

On motorcycles, be safe . I know, duh.... it you love riding enough, and if you do it enough, chances are you'll die doing it. The trick is to put that time off long enough until you die from something else first!
