Listening to Hawaiian music on the stream while waiting for the show to start. Swaying my hands. Hey, why not?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57am

I'm here for Dark Lunch of the Soul.
Avatar 🦇 11:57am

this is hawaiian?
Avatar 🦇 11:58am

I like that Uncle Michael, lil Burroughs-esque

The one before this.

"Lani McIntire - Kaneohe" - according to the bot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59am
Parq:

I could sway my hands to this Bolly too, for that matter.

Hey there Ms. Julie and friends! This has turned into Thursday afternoon appointment radio!

Afternoon, Julie and all! Lovely to hear this Queen track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:02pm
Sem:

Hiya, Julie, dark knights or noughts, Queen-folk, and all.
Avatar 🦇 12:02pm

yay Phillippe I'm so glad to hear that! Also belated hello to earlybirds Parq & Uncle Michael!
Avatar 🦇 12:03pm
Julie:

hey Sem! Freddie coming through okay?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm
Parq:

"Boho Rap" (the movie) seems on its way to rehabilitation after the initial negative press, as popular opinion refuses to lie down.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm
Uncle Michael:

Ladyo Gaga, loud and clear.
Avatar 🦇 12:05pm

Queen fans are pretty obsessive.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06pm
Uncle Michael:

I just don't abide biopics...not a thing I do.
Avatar 🦇 12:07pm
Julie:

Boho Rap sounds like Lin Manuel Miranda's new musical. I'd go see that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08pm
Uncle Michael:

I saw Mary Poppins Returns. I'll be off the LMM treain for a bit.

I'm just a naysayer today, aren't I?
Avatar 🦇 12:08pm
Julie:

that's all I've seen him in. That & Curb. No way I'm fighting for hamilton tickets.
Avatar 🦇 12:11pm
Julie:

the guy in Mary Poppins, Ben whatshisname, was the 2nd guy cast as Freddie Mercury, between Cohen & Rami.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm
Parq:

I'm with you on biopics, UM. Even if the subject is someone I dig. *Especially* if the subject is someone I dig (Ray Charles and Johnny Cash, e.g.). God, I love the way Prince just explodes at the climax of this track.
Avatar 12:13pm
still b/p:

Almost all - maybe ALL - biopics I've seen about creative individuals are soap opera-ish, trite, lacking adequate creative interest.
SOTLACI would be the....terrible acronym.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:15pm
Phillippe Bastille:

I'm waiting for the home release of the Cheney biopic so I can throw popcorn at the screen and not get tossed
Avatar 🦇 12:15pm
Julie:

I haven't seen many of them. Bo Rhap is musically and visually stunning. I forgive the bad script and the lies because of that. I'll probably see Rocketman too. But we really need a Marc film.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm
Parq:

Phillipe. thanks for that mental image. Smiling broadly here.
Avatar 🦇 12:17pm
Julie:

I saw Vice this week. I never felt so strongly like yelling and throwing things at the screen. Freddie Bowie & Prince are gone, Cheney lingers on. Evil is forever.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:18pm
Phillippe Bastille:

Parq: we still have butter smears on the screen from watching W
Avatar 🦇 12:19pm
Julie:

take likeable actors like Carrell, Amy Adams and Rockwell and have them play the most loathsome people. Sheesh. Tyler Perry as Colin Powell was interesting though.
Avatar 12:20pm
still b/p:

Buy a crummy second hand TV still good enough for the viewing but suitable for fusillades of popcorn, darts, loogies, shoes....what have you.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:21pm
Phillippe Bastille:

Still b/p Now there's a plan I can get behind
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm
Parq:

Phillipe, is W any good? (Aside from loathing the principal characters, I mean.) I was never interested in it, but I recently saw some clips that looked interesting.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:23pm
Phillippe Bastille:

I was disappointed that Josh Brolin was wasted in W. I think the guy is underappreciated. Loved him in No Country for Old Men
Avatar 🦇 12:24pm
Julie:

I thought W was good. Brolin is in all the marvel things now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm
Parq:

Wasn't Brolin the guy who played opposite Sean Penn as the guy who killed Harvey Milk? I thought he was really good in that role.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:28pm
Phillippe Bastille:

W never really looked finished to me. Not Oliver Stone's best. I don't see much of the Marvel stuff, though I loved loved loved the Jessica Jones series. I seem to have a thing for damaged lead characters
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:29pm
Phillippe Bastille:

Never saw Milk, but imdb says you're dead-on with Brolin
Avatar 12:30pm
still b/p:

Brolin is good. Strange in Old Men...so obstinate and fanatical about keeping - the - money! I heard or read him describing the more demanding efforts and effects in shooting Everest, so of course he was hit with the, "Heyyy, you millionaire actor, don't you complain, you...you million dollar actor! How dare you!" Some people are suddenly at such an altitude of indignation that their brains are oxygen-starved.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:34pm
Phillippe Bastille:

Doesn't pay to be famous anymore. One slip-up and you're finished. People seem to be going out of their way to take people down
Avatar 12:38pm
still b/p:

Funky dynamic after a celebrity offense...whose judgment of what measurable width on the content and tone of how many apologies. Can be clunky, slippery, goofy. Executed and endured with varying degrees of sense and class, and of success.

Avatar 12:43pm

Hence Darth Cheney.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:44pm
Phillippe Bastille:

Halliburton gets into animatronics
Avatar 12:45pm
still b/p:

I think even Darth Vader says of Cheney mode and legacy, "That dude? Cold man. Cold."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm
Parq:

I was promised, uh, warned, several times during the first W term, by people claiming to work off unimpeachable (no pun intended) inside information that Cheney was imminently near death. Here we are fucking nearly two decades later and he's still publishing op ed pieces in the Good Grey. He *must* be a cyborg.
Avatar 🦇 12:51pm
Julie:

wonder what he thinks of the movie
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:54pm
Phillippe Bastille:

I just googled looking for articles about him reacting and couldn't find any. He did not want the movie to be made, however
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm
Parq:

I'm sure he has privately told the director, producer, etc., to go fuck themselves.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:58pm

likely true

B/t/w, Jul, I love the playlist pic. I imagine most people will see depression, and maybe that's what the artist had in mind, but in the context of your show, I prefer to see a quiet girl gathering her inner fires in preparation to rain hell down on some deserving heads.
