Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from December 21, 2018 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Went to the Whitney for the Warhol exhibit then upstairs to the Kevin Beasley installation, A view of a Landscape.
I thought immediately of Bryce and this audience.
I recommend the Beasley piece to all of you.

steveo:

oh yes, lix, i read something about that; it's up through march
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm
steveo:

(not that i'd recommend reading about it first, i'd probably recommend the opposite)
  12:43pm
Lixiviated Life:

I actually went through the installation in reverse.
This gaff made it more interesting to me.
  12:46pm
Lixiviated Life:

I went in not knowing anything about it and was delighted.

I’ve been describing the Warhol exhibit as thought provoking
But
I found the Beasley piece to be transcendent.

Hi from Holland:

In Vain is played in the dark which makes for a fun experience, if you have a chance to "see" it I'd recommend it :-)

Hi from Holland:

A Dutch guy is now the principal guest conductor of Klangforum Wien (successor of Sylvain Cambreling who remains guest conductor emeritus) so we have that going for us which is nice :-)

Is that the In Vain CD on Kairos label? Methinks it's the only physical format version out there (?)

@Hi from Holland 1:59: If only we had large orchestras programming that kind of thing in DC -- Scarcely any modern stuff on that scale happening live here, ever.

Or if I'm mistaken, dammit, someone let me know...

Spent most of last weekend listening to In Vain & "music on open strings" by Gloria Coates repeatedly. I think it did something to the old grey brain ball.

Hi from Holland:

@Rev but you have fun stuff at the Kennedy Center from time to time, I've watched a few concerts on their YouTube channel (Korean band Black String is nice) - Dakh Daughters in January I see in the Agenda :-)
