Well stay tuned for an extended gamelan piece coming up. It is the rare jegog performance of gamelan which employs the use of huge shafts of resonating bamboo. Jegog is played only in a few islands in Indonesia because that is the only place on earth where the bamboo grows that large. Stay tuned!!

music of the morning of the world was my introduction to gamelan and it was c1980 via wfmu. i got the record and loved it but always wished certain tracks were maybe 4X longer then my aunt gave me bunches of tapes she brought back from indonesia and What a relief to hear! ...though even those songs were faded out before their times because of tape length.
