i've often said that Mitch was Jimi's drummer counterpart. aside from just being an outstanding drummer, i don't think it's possible that a more suitable drummer could've been chosen to compliment Jimi. i think Jimi realised this -if not before, then certainly after his stint with the clumsy, lacking of finesse and intuition and somewhat egocentric Buddy Miles.

Its been far to long since I've heard that Tortoise track. Thanks Irwin. Its sonics rapidly/ viscerally took me back to summer of 2004, as my first summer back home in Chicago after starting college.....
