LunchboxTA:

hey irwin. listened to moondog's h'art songs after hearing you talk about him on the show a while back. really enjoyable stuff
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm
Irwin:

H'Art Songs is Moondog's "pop songs" album. Wish he'd done more projects like that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm
LunchboxTA:

yeah i really adored "Do Your Thing". Lovely message with simple execution. Looking to get into more of his other works after im done with Pat Metheny now.

Wild Neil||Peace All:

So my neighbor who cut my grass without asking was caught on video pouring gasoline on another neighbor's yard, killing the grass. The sheriff was called and explanation was that a landscaper he hired cut the grass around the victim's mailbox. So, he was so mad he poured gas on the lawn.

This Rooftop track was my first exposure to this great old song. I was surprised a few years later to learn that it was by no means the first version of the song.

Be careful of what you talk about on air, station manage Ken might change the name of your show to donut something!

I've had 4 or 5 stress test ...and catheterizatins .....and got two stints put in . I feel the same as I did before all this .

Santos L Halper:

Great show Irwin. Dig this Sunny/Sunsets, nic Byrdsy feel
  3:57pm
Santos L Halper:

*nice*
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm
Tommy in Neversink:

You have to drink a ton of water for the stress test in order to wash out the nuclear stuff.....so you drink , pee, drink more, pee more...on and on ..it's a real drag.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm
Brian in UK:

"Did you know there is no proper name for the back of the knees? so said Reg Smeeton. He of the You speak, You pause, I pounce school of conversation.
(quotes from Sir Henry at Rawlinson End)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm
Tommy in Neversink:

And then you're scanned you have to be still 20 minutes ...and you really need to pee...but if you interrupt the test ..you have to do it over again ....I managed to make it ...but if it came to a choice of peeing in my pants or doing the whole thing again ...I was not gonna do the whole thing over again
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm
Tommy in Neversink:

So , I imagine, you're now even more relieved you avoided this test

Love these story songs. Does CW McCall ever sing in a more conventional Country style?

Somehow, this song is appropriate to this show. Kind of like Tiny Tim's Stairway to Heaven.

Rainy Day Women takes a lot of heat, but for my money, this is the dumbest song on "Blonde on Blonde."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm
drr:

listener Rey: C.W. McCall wasn't really a person, more of a name a southeastern DJ used for a novelty album of songs about CB radio ("Convoy"). But I haven't heard the whole album, so...I don't really know.

If I'm not mistaken, "C.W. McCall" went on to be one of the organizers of Mannheim Steamroller. I should probably Wikipedia all this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm
listener Rey:

@drr Thanks for that info.
That's a helluva stylistic jump!
