Stevel, thanks, what a great piece. The world in which I remember Devo breaking (ca. 1979, and I was in Boston at the time) was so different from the world of 1969 and Kent State that the connection between the two shows how deep cultural roots can be.

When I both met Tyondai Braxton and Lucas Ligeti, I eventually started talking about their respective fathers and their work, until I realized, they get that all the time, and then turned the conversation to their own work (and I lfigeach of the aforementioneds' work as well)
