Basically you just wait for most living survivors and defenders of their history to pass away and then just fill in the blanks. Kinda like what is happening in Poland where they want to legislate (!!!) not disparaging Poles with regards to World War II. That would essentially wipe away any Polish collaboration and state “Hey, we were all victims!” when that wasn’t the case. Anyway, I like what this whale is singing.

You have a cult of personality and it stays in the psyche for generations... Yes, I sort of got that vibe from the write-up. The director says - " “All my life I’ve been fascinated by the fact that there is no unequivocal truth. " I'd say that millions of dead are fairly unequivocal.

My brother—who grew up in Communist Poland—has a clear memory of being in school one day and someone swapping out the portrait of Jesus with a portrait of Stalin. Which was better/worse for a small Jewish kid to look at? Who knows! But there you go.

My brother—who grew up in Communist Poland—has a clear memory of being in school one day and someone swapping out the portrait of Jesus with a portrait of Stalin. Which was better/worse for a small Jewish kid to look at? Who knows! But there you go.
