Found this:

"When Erik Satie died in 1925, those closest to him were shocked to discover that the dapper French composer had lived in a filthy, threadbare room with to which he hadn’t admitted a single visitor in 27 years. Now a museum dedicated to his life and work, the dingy apartment was once strewn with hoarded umbrellas and newspapers that almost completely buried its most striking feature: two grand pianos placed one on top of the other, the upper instrument used as storage for letters and parcels. It was at once a haven and a prison for Satie, a secretive, introverted alcoholic who died from cirrhosis of the liver."

I have been to Mary Gauthier's hometown: Thibodeaux, Louisiana. Oops, I forgot to say HEY, STILL B/P earlier.

Hey, still b/p!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am Hugo:

Ooh ... that should cover it. He also did a couple of records for Jive Afrika, recorded in Botswana in the mid-80s. To be retrieved as well.

Delay of name.
Five yards.

@still b/p
Remember when the football refs did that weird kicking behind their leg movement to indicate a Clipping penalty? That was goofy.
Avatar 11:42am Monica:

gagging on the fabulosity...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43am Sem:

unfabulous, adjective
unfabulously, adverb.

Who knew such words existed, even?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43am Doug Schulkind:

Flying the flag of fabulosity, Dean!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44am Doug Schulkind:

Like Monica said! (She's always two steps ahead.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45am Stanley:

Doug, don't you go thinking I've not been listening. I have and also worked on a particularly difficult piece of work.
Who says guys cannot multi- task? (Well, bi-task, in my case).
Great show but got to get home in time for The Hink.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46am Doug Schulkind:

@Stanley
When I'm DJing, I'm never thinking, so you are safe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46am Hugo:

I am pondering the title of one of the pieces in the jazz set. Literally translated "Wurzelbehandlung" means root treatment. Anything to do with a visit to the dentist?
  11:47am Dean:

Can't wait to hear The Fabulous Quartet.
Avatar 11:47am burke:

@Stanley: I have a hard enough time mono-tasking.
Avatar 🥁 11:47am βrian:

I mean, let the kings have their Royal Entrance Fanfare. I will have the Fabulous Playboys!

The fabulous Hinky Dinky Time is up next here on your 24-hour Drummer Stream. Uncle Michael will be wearing a pink chiffon moomoo and little else.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51am Doug Schulkind:

You should hear the Fabulouses that didn't make the cut!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51am Uncle Michael:

Thanks for the morning music, Doug. See you fine folks in the adjacent room.
  11:51am Dean:

Fabulosses!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am Doug Schulkind:

@Hugo
Root treatment could refer to a hair appointment as well. That sounds less painful.
  11:52am Dean:

If WFMU ever changes call letters, it should consider FABU.

FABU sounds like a Sea World whale, Dean.

FREE FABU!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am Hugo:

From which we can infer: The 60s were really fab! (there were a couple of 70s in there, but never mind).
  11:54am Dean:

FABU isn't free. FABU's expensive!

Right after the show, I am dashing to an interview for an internship at an Alzheimer's research facility. If I don't get it, I may just go ahead and donate my brain to science. (Why pay for parking twice?!)
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:56am JtotheK:

thanks for the tunes, doug! good luck with the dashing, and the interview!

"Why Pay For Parking Twice?" THERE'S the memoir title.
Avatar 11:56am Monica:

good luck with that, doug! music speaks to alzheimer's patients when the rest falls away. thx for the fabu show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58am Doug Schulkind:

I've already written papers about music therapy and dementia, Monica!
  11:58am Dean:

Speaking of varieties of dementia, I called my mom (90YO, heading toward 91) yesterday--as I do everyday--and while she's pretty robust for a woman her age, she has been slowing down. For some reason yesterday she only wanted to talk about Biggie Smalls and Tupac.

I heard in UK Wednesday 31-01-2018 at 19:00-20:00 local time London, a superb 1 hour all sort of interpretations of Planet Claire with a full moon outside at your live stream. I missed the first half. How can I listen to it again please?

Thanks ahead for the linx
