@ATF - I present these records merely as a historical record and not as an endorsement of any kind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:16pm
Becky:

Honestly, sometimes I wonder if I should be presenting ANY of these records. There are serious issues with 95% of them.

And it's about a cigar store statue, anyway..... And we can all appreciate the musical talents on display, even if we don't agree with the lyrics. (goes off singing "Baby, It's Cold Outside")

A native american statue is as bad as a porch jockey....

Oh dear, please don't play any honky tonk unless it's politically correct. I will faint.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22pm
Becky:

Listen, there's bad stuff all over our history. And honky tonk music is as guilty of it if not more. I want to know what the listeners feel comfortable with - and some non-white male voices would be very refreshing.

ottovonbqe:

I apologize for being snarky about that. You're right, I don't know why it gets under my skin, just getting old I guess.

Pssst… Don’t fall for the lawn trolls!!!

Anyway, I like this show and I like this music.

if you really want to know, ochre, and the liberal slathering of it upon their poor mosquito and black fly tormented bodies was what made the red man red.

A.T.F.:

Music is colorblind....i listen to all ....if it sounds good and makes me feel better than the minute before....been to all afrocarriban reggae and only dude there....no problems....im just a white devil ..im ok with that...

So Cash was not actually partially native american? I bought that CD Native Tears from some foundation catalog that's supposed to help native southwesterners but later found out the foundation is prolly mostly bogus.
  8:31pm
A.T.F.:

Good lungs on that cowperson..
  8:31pm
JakeGould:

@acidcasualty: What does that have to do with anything?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31pm
Becky:

@acid casualty "Believing that he had some Cherokee ancestry, Cash was inspired by Native American activism and issues in the 1960s, a time of social upheaval in the United States. He was concerned about injustices against these peoples. He later learned that his ancestry was limited to the British Isles: English, Scots, Scots-Irish and Irish."
