I had JUST SUGGESTED my friends sample a solo from Slim Gaillard's Laughing In Rhythm, just an hour ago. Then a four song Slim Gaillard block comes on the radio. Amazing!

The above mentioned book "Memphis Boys" is recommended. Chips Moman's American Studio somehow escaped long-form documentation for too long. The author was known to remark that she hopes to write a biography of Grady Martin. I would love to read such a book. I hope it is in progress!

I don't know about a video to "The Freeze" but it reminds me of teens similarly dancing to "The Hesitation Twist" on an ancient episode of "The Donna Reed Show". The rumpus room stereo was shorting out and every time it went silent the teen twisters would become motionless. The laugh track was used generously.
