You know too many good people have died in a year when someone you are a fan of dies and it gets past you for months. RIP Jessi Zazu.

@medson I saw them in Indy at Radio Radio, Kelly was still with them (after the second album, I think). They held an impromptu dance contest. Great fun band.

Nate, I didn't know what to make of the first half dozen albums, but they were intriguing, so I kept on buying.
Got started w/ Weasels, then went back for the 10 that preceded it, and kept listening for the next 13, winding up w/ Zoot Allures.
Maybe the inspired lyrics coupled by explorations of rhythms layered over musique concrète, his guitar improvisations, and ever-changing choice of playmates was just too much to ignore. Didn't get everything he was doing but the more I heard the more I wanted to follow along.
Plus, I liked a man w/ a serious long term soul patch before it became a thing.

Listener Robert:

Thanks for introducing us to Sparrow Steeple. I'm going to have to remember them in case I get a chance to go to a performance of theirs.

I also think the mic placement was interesting for some of the "foreground" sounds. My compliments to the engineer.
  8:18am
Listener Robert:

Of course a real steeple full of real sparrows is noisy, cacophonous. So, one of those silly, self-deprecating band names, I guess.

Morgan:

Im astounded at the live music coming out of fmu recently! lucky I can get it on the radio w better speakers
