Also Theory of Obscurity is pretty great-- depending on which theories you subscribe to regarding their identities, it may be the closest we'll ever get to an autobiographical tell-all.

Dean from Texas, me too--loved that from the 80s, and am also from Texas (left the Lone Star State for NYC 1982). The Residents film is fun, but of course!

@Melinda-sometimes I surprise my wife by being able to id a song on the radio. I just say, it's nothing, I just listen to WFMU for years. She thinks I'm some kind of musical expert, but I just was exposed to a lot of music, that's all...WFMU DJs are the REAL experts in my book.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm

In 1962, [Freddie Scott] worked with fellow songwriters Gerry Goffin and Carole King on their song "Hey, Girl", recording a demo for singer Chuck Jackson. When Jackson failed to turn up to a recording session, Scott recorded the song himself, and, when eventually released by the Colpix label some months later, it rose to no. 10 on both the pop and R&B charts.
