What's Paul Simon Wednesday, rrg?
Avatar 3:06pm
Wild Neil:

PEACE All. Why is that building all curvy??
  3:07pm
Dean:

Like downtown L.A.'s Disney Hall, it must have been designed by Frank Gehry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm
rrg:

Hi, LL. "Paul Simon Wednesday" is something that Irwin once described as "the three scariest words I've ever heard".

Or words to that effect. I'm paraphrasing. It was so long ago. I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.

Wild Neil:

Frank Gehry...a starchitecht....I dropped out of Cooper Union's school of architecture and there are some of the smartest people I have ever met there in my life...but my GOD some of the unusual justifications for odd designs really warped my mind, in some cases permanently.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm
rrg:

All right, all right. I'll get this Bran Flakes album. I'm persuaded.
  3:13pm
Dean:

I *so* wanted to attend Cooper Union's architecture program! Got into another program, but cold feet (I can't draw for beans) and post-adolescent wisdom gave me second thoughts. Walked away from it. I enjoy Gehry's early career work. Can't stand the slithery titanium crap.

@Dean. I learned so much more in the sculpture shop working with my hands....and the freehand drawing class. You really didn't miss too much. Really. What do you do now?
Avatar 3:17pm

Irwin, you are my musical hero.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm

Planning ahead, it would seem.
  3:18pm
Dean:

@Wild Neil: Librarian (with a dash of lawyer). Really, I think I wanted to study architectural history, high Gothic cathedrals, Alberti, and all that. Did well in an architectural drafting class (we're talking '80s), even got a job offer...which I timorously declined. But I live across the street from an architect, so there's that!
