Hi Jeff - I'm usually not up but I am now!
I like Träd Gräs och Stenar, have one of their old recordings (that I got at the Rec Fair) with their cover of the Fugs' Nothing!
  1:13am
MONEYBAG$:

the best dark star is the one they haven't played yet, man
Avatar 1:15am
Jeff Conklin:

I could never answer that, really. It was such a mutating tune. I'll say the one I've listened to the most and that I never tire of is the version found on Live/Dead. Most 72-73 Dark Stars are incredible.
Avatar 1:15am
Jeff Conklin:

Thank you , Veronica

Has anyone heard John Oswald's remix/epic collage of Dark Star?

Live/Dead has the most orgasmic The Eleven I've ever heard in my life. I have busted many a nut listening to it, and if anyone knows of any better I will tip my hat in your direction

Love this "Other One." Have never heard an "Other One" I didn't like, actually. But this one seems particularly sharp--they seem extra telepathic. By the way, I'm a little late to the party, but I just picked up our own Jesse Jarnow's "Heads"--a biography of the psychedelic movement--and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Dexter, I'm from Michigan, originally, too! Miss going to Glen Arbor in the summer.

Note that it's all well and good for Jeff to share with us about his own throbbing body part, because it's his show.

"Dust on the Nettles" is a lovely collection. A lot of folks I've never heard of mixed in with some of the more famous, expected British folk groups. Stellar.

Joni's always welcome. I think we have to face the fact that we won't be hearing any new music from her. I'm happy she's still alive, and I'm grateful for the amazing catalog she's left for us to remember her by long after she's gone.

This Youngbloods album was one of the first albums I ever bought!
