Great show! I was listening to Field Day earlier today on a bike ride up the Hudson and under the GWB, a perfect sunny day record. Thanks Marshall and Thanks Todd!

This is the impressive thing about WFMU DJs: that they know better than the artists such details as who's covered their compositions.

WOW! I had no idea how cool Marshall Crenshaw is!
Avatar 5:25pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

All this around the revelation of Dion' 'Kickin' Child' implies rewriting the history of FolkRawk (!); Wilson evidently the connecting figure of so much. Him independently adding electric instruments to S&G's 'Sounds of Silence' is sometimes noted as the Birth moment of it...
Avatar 5:28pm
geezerette:

RevRab, mind blowing info nugget!
Avatar 5:28pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I think it's hard to get the balance right w/ PowerPop. MarshallCrenshaw obviously has melodic potential of the highest order - stays guitar-based...& gets a clear rich sound w/out overproducing it into phony featurelessness (it sounds good).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35pm
