Sun. Dec 22nd, 3pm - 5pm:
The Unsolicited Return of the Winter Soul-stice (fill-in for Paul Bruno)
(More info...)
You can't stop the seasons from turning, and you evidently also can't stop an old dog from performing his one old trick. Answering the teeming clamor of one New York Times food columnist
, Gaylord Fields is returning to WFMU's airwaves for a one-off Winter Soul-stice program. In his time away he's learned nothing, so the format will remain the same: two hours of original 1960s soul 45s, and the abuse of an expensive reverb machine for the sake of corny vocal effects.
June 9, 2017: Estival Festival (Fill-in for Downtown Soulville)
Tuned in for Fine Wine, stayin' for surprise Gaylord! Yuuuuup!

I love Italian re recordings of 60s hits. I am making a list of them to go in the soundtrack of the movie I want to make set in 1960s Rome. This is now on the list.
Gaylord Friday!! Well if anyone fills in for Fine Wein, you are the tops. Speaking of which, love the Four Tops Italiano plus the Slauson. We have that last one by the Pyramids, believe it or not!
And thanks to everyone for listening (and, I hope) dancing!

@Bronwyn - would love to see this Italian soul playlist! visited my brother in Italy this winter and found a sweet Italian issue soul 45 by the 5th dimension ... had no idea there were more of these :)
