Big Lynch fan...love the new Twin Peaks so far (though it kind feels more like Mulholland Drive, which in fairness was originally conceived as a TP spinoff, than classic Peaks. which is no bad thing), in fact with that American Gods and Leftovers it's surreal sunday on TV.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09am
Nate K.:

@Damno... I agree with the MD comparison, elements of Lost Highway, too, perhaps.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13am
fred:

Damn, looks like I should find a way to see this. I probably won't get around to it though: too much good radio going on, and it looks hard with my not being in the US
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13am
ultradamno:

Yeah, I see that in that in the structure a lot.

Ha! I was playing In Color in the car last week...
  8:15am
logan:

Carsick cars?

logan:

Apologies, seems I restarted someone else's show, thought it was your Nate. Back to your program. More coffee obviously needed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18am

(carsick cars)...could result in a technicolor yawn.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22am
Nate K.:

@Logan, I did play Carsickness, though...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22am
Mike Sin:

Just thinking out loud... To me, Cheap Trick's "In Color" was the LP that "made them," as it were... really separated them from many other FM-oriented straight-up rock bands at the time. I think the producer Tom Werman deserves a fair amount of credit, but it seems likr the band has gone out of its way to complain about the "polish." Japan would not have been primed for this band without it and "Budokan" would have never happened.

...okay - I get up - Thx James Arthur...

Will:

Sets are quite artfully assembled today, Nate. Admiringly, Will J
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:34am
ultradamno:

In Color definitely made them, for sure, though the first album was really more separate from straight up FM rock of the day (which, I guess had them in a more niche category before In Color happened).

Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I always had this impression that CheapTrick never quite got Produced quite right - like I would put their vinyl on my cheap stereo & - something wouldn't hold my attention ('Arranged'? Mastered? I dunno)...hard to articulate - but I felt I *really should* by all rights be enjoying this band more often than I was. I'm just glad to hear them when I do now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:41am
ultradamno:

They were a better live band, that's for sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:42am
Nate K.:

Che-Shizu and Cheap Trick in the same show? A bridge too far?
Avatar 8:42am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...remembering the actual limitations then, tho' tend to forget now...I have a memory of some Sabbath & other vinyl actually jumping the groove - pressed cheaply or too dynamically or whatever it was...so long ago!!...
Yeah actually - seeing CheapTrick on AustinCityLimits not too very long ago put an exclamation point over my head...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:44am
ultradamno:

@ Nate: It's the spell some benevolent witch cast over WFMU many moons ago that make such incongruous juxtapositions work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:49am
Sem Chumbo:

Thx, NK. So long for now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50am
Nate K.:

Thanks, Sem. See you next.
