	10:04am Scraps: bean counter: Ed Ward explained (in my long-ago blog) how Columbia or RCA signed up great jazz: "And you're right about its being appalling that their records are out of print, but I remember when RCA Nova started up, we got that boilerplate press release about this marking "a solid commitment on the part of our label to the best advances of contemporary jazz," which meant, as always, "we've made a lot of money this year and need to take a tax break," as well as meaning that they'd be carpet-bombing the indifferenet rock press fools with the albums, and they'd soon be available at "people's prices," first at the promo trade-in stores, then as cutouts."

	10:41am Dean: Last Friday Thomas Buckner delivered a "lecture" at CNMAT in Berkeley, his old house at 1750 Arch St. Maybe twelve or fifteen of us in attendance. It was fantastic. He talked about working with Roscoe Mitchell, Alvin Lucier, Bob Ashley, et al., and played old recordings of excerpts of shows in which he'd performed, and gave a live performance of a work written for him by Lucier. The event was free.

	10:41am Dean: Last Friday Thomas Buckner delivered a "lecture" at CNMAT in Berkeley, his old house at 1750 Arch St. Maybe twelve or fifteen of us in attendance. It was fantastic. He talked about working with Roscoe Mitchell, Alvin Lucier, Bob Ashley, et al., and played old recordings of excerpts of shows in which he'd performed, and gave a live performance of a work written for him by Lucier. The event was free.
