Is this Guys Named Mark Are Rich Day? Even since Bob Branen's program this morning I've heard over and over guys named Mark donating to WFMU today. Unless you all are reading the same list repeatedly. I happily donated a few minutes ago.
It's disturbingly quiet in here. Make my ears ring! 1-800-989-9368!!!

The silent SFL minority, of whom I'm one, hereby GET LOUD about their shekels donated in the name of our Saturday morning (in Seattle) fixture R-E-X! Thanks for all the imbecility!
I remember when a co-worker taught me to pronounce "Tagalog" with the accent on the 2nd syllable. Influenced by its resemblance to "tagalong/tag along", I'd been accenting the 1st.
Come to think of it, "Tagalog" probably means something in German too. "Day [...uh...] manifestation". Yeah, that sounds good.

Drive family members insane? Oh yeah -- I blast this program throughout the Longish Household. All members conversant with "MAMA" in various pronunciations.
Seems the closest I can get & stay seeming Germanic for "Tagalog" would be for it to mean "day-ale-ish", i.e. like ale made in 1 day. But the actual etymology of "Tagalog" in Tagalog turns out to be interesting, in that the "ilog" part seems Indo-European. I love language coincidences.
I thought of a challenge to issue to the next air show. It'd be unfair for the remainder of this one, but Todd's got the whole show ahead in which it might be accomplished. Hint: substitute for cardiology.
