The Cass-CD: Artifacts from Irwin's Cassette Era, 1974-1998
I have hundreds of cassettes containing thousands of sonic artifacts. They're stacked forlornly on shelves, but deserve to be played and heard. Here's a sampler of analog sonic debris: WFMU airchecks, bogus commercials, found sounds, montages, music rarities, vintage WFMU station IDs, interview outtakes, school bands, foolishness and fakery. Tape hiss retained.

On the subject of "The 5,000 Fingers" and reviewers reading a LOT into things, would you believe I read one review of it years ago that seized on the scene at the end with the "air fix" as being "very atomic" as turning the whole movie into a metaphor for nuclear weapons scares?
