Hello Jesse , Mayuko, James!
People with other names!
Avatar 7:08pm
Jesse K:

Hey Mayuko, James, geezerette and everyone!
I was going to pick about an hour of Jaki projects but then pretty quickly discovered that I could do a pretty normal show (for me) only using things that he played on so here we go...
Avatar 7:15pm
geezerette:

Great! His surname translates to love time doesn't it?
Avatar 7:17pm
geezerette:

I mean, we could all use some right now.
Avatar 7:19pm
Jesse K:

Yeah, love time tonight
Avatar 7:19pm
northguineahills:

Crap, missed secret rhythms..., darn good album!
Avatar 7:25pm
Jesse K:

I thought you were bleeding Future Days into another track for a seond...
Avatar 7:53pm
Jesse K:

Mr. Craig is doing the bleeding in this case
Avatar 7:59pm
geezerette:

that was wonderful. Gave the drummer alright!
Avatar 8:03pm
Jesse K:

I just got finished saying the Kamerasong was the first record he was on then comes this 1966 record. Oh well, pay no attention to the things I say!

Howdy coelacanthø!

Doug Schulkind:

Speaking of German wonderfulness, I have some spectacular news:

One week from today, Give the Drummer Radio will debut a NEW PROGRAM! Host BR transplanted New Yorker David Dichelle, the show, Continental Subway, will emanate from the studios of Radio Blau in Leipzig, Germany. The first hour will be simulcast on Radio Blau, and the next two hours will sit exclusively on the Drummer Stream. The show will air Tuesdays, 4-6pm.

Hey Scraps!
Hi Melinda!
  8:43pm
Doug Schulkind:

So so vunderbar!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48pm
listener james from westwood:

I see he did a Tolkien-oriented show for his b'day, so that's already a plus in my book.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52pm
Ike:

Congrats on new show! Looking forward to hearing it. What is "Host BR" though, and if there's a first hour and a next two hours, why is it only on from 4-6?
Avatar 8:55pm
Scraps:

It's a Martin Gardner puzzle
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56pm
coelacanth∅:

inquiring minds want to know.
... i wondered on both those things but i figured i will find out when the show commences.
  8:57pm
Doug Schulkind:

Host BR is some weird typo. Not site what I meant there!
  8:58pm
Doug Schulkind:

I think that was supposed say, "Hosted by..."
Avatar 9:02pm
Jesse K:

Jaki Liebezeit in your left channel on this globe unity track, if I've managed to not reverse my signals somewhere between me and you.
Avatar 9:03pm
Scraps:

Ah, Globe Unity! Scrunch my eyes with pleasure
Avatar 9:04pm
northguineahills:

Vow, early Schlippenbach!
Avatar 9:08pm
Scraps:

Von Schlippenbach always sounds to me like a name made up by Mel Brooks. "von SCHLIPPenbach!"
Avatar 9:10pm
northguineahills:

Yes, I too was just pronouncing his name out loud.
Avatar 9:20pm
Scraps:

Not only Schlippenbach but Peter Brötzmann, Gunter Hampel, Schoof, Liebezeit, Willem Breuker, and more -- in 1967!
Avatar 9:25pm
Scraps:

Oh yeah! Halleluwah is what I'm thinking of when I think of Liebezeit
Avatar 9:28pm
Jesse K:

These last two tracks are a good before/after: when he removed a lot of the notes from what he was playing.
Avatar 9:30pm
Scraps:

Excellent illustration!
Avatar 9:31pm

I like both ends of him
