I like this Terry Callier. What I've heard from him before is more folky. Which is also good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm
Uncle Michael:

I love this Terry callier. I've never heard of him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm
melinda:

This is sort of a folk-funk hybrid.
Avatar 7:50pm
geezerette:

Never heard him either & it does sond like that!
The Sanders one was like jazz-rock.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm
KimSorise:

Thanks so much! Terry Callier is a super favorite! Never just his just, I think.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm
Uncle Michael:

When he first opened his mouth I thought this was a Tony Joe White record I'd somehow missed.

Gazaway is using samples so beautifully.

Uncle Michael:

Eddie Kentricks should have his face on a coin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:01pm
KimSorise:

He really does! I am not so much a fan of the mash-up sort of thing, but this LP is stellar with its use of sampling throughout
Avatar 8:12pm
geezerette:

Kim,I used to be ambivalent at best because early on a lot of people made it sound like laziness. It was clear that music recycling was valid because there was so much recorded music, collaging seemed natural. It was usually pretty crude & blatant at first, but when it's done with such imagination and elegance, you just have to tip your hat. I loved it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm
KimSorise:

Have a great night! Stay tuned for Sam!
