coelacanth:

greetings Kim and all
Happy Birthday?

the magic city just before the piano came in reminded me of recordings i've heard of whales. (honestly and not derisively!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29pm
KimSorise:

Haha! Thanks for sticking with me, Coelacanth even through the whale sounds from outer space! Welcome. Thanks, birthday was last Monday which explains my absence; I was buying records and playing them too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38pm
coelacanth:

Kim, that sounds like exactly how i like to spend my birthdays!
...Happy New Year then!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm
listener james from westwood:

Nilsson! Newman!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm
coelacanth:

dig it! i just finished listening to the most recent circle time archive, and it's 3-song Dr. John tribute.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm
KimSorise:

I have looked for a decent condition decent price copy of Gris-Gris for some time; certainly not hard to find - just always beat up. It's my dad's favorite LP and I must have heard it 1000s of times it seems. Figured I should finally get one of my own.

flatone:

I have this album, u 1st dj in 30yrs to play it on air...jahbless
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:04pm
coelacanth:

i confess i have only 2 Dr. John albums on vinyl, and sun moon herbs is a disaster. (so i also have the cd) i figured if i find those early ones on vinyl i couldn't afford them.
- i have gris gris on cd.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:06pm
KimSorise:

Flatone - are you speaking of Dr. John or Vytas Brenner? Both are great finds!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...you're the man who squats behind the man - who works the Soft Machine
...'course - you say that like it's a bad thing...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09pm
KimSorise:

Top 10 fav LP - This is a new to me copy! My other OG was beat to being played too much. Couldn't believe I found an OG VG+ copy for $9.00 - Happy Birthday to me!

coelacanth:

babylon is the last one on my list that i haven't got. i know it's good.
- yeah that "breakout & mira K..." was killer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm
coelacanth:

sorry but i can't stop thinking of "she's a woman" by the beatles!
(no offense to my beloved beatles, but this is better)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:17pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

John @ BBC : '...made up in studio...is why it has such rubishy lyrics'...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20pm
coelacanth:

haha! i've read that about she's a woman.. (or heard it?)
..."i feel fine" also in that category.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:21pm
coelacanth:

(though those lyrics aren't as "rubishy", in my opinion)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28pm
