Love you, Joe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm Parq:

And, as someone who met Billy a couple of times but mostly related to him as a fan, I extend my hand to those who knew him well and counted him as a pal. This hurts all of us, but those who knew him well especially so.
  12:11pm Bluesman:

Hey Joe! Keep it rockin' for Billy.
  12:14pm Dennis Diken:

go Joe, go! sending love to all who knew Billy or was touched by him, and I know this means most of your listeners.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 12:15pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Man, 2016 is the Year of the Tributes. Billy Miller, Leon Russell and Leonard Cohen just this week. And I'm sure there are more that I didn't even list.
Avatar 12:15pm Joe B:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm nickybones:

Avatar 12:57pm Whooda:

Hello all, thanks in advance for another great show DJ Joe Belock. I'll have to hit the archive for the live set. As an Okie I particularly feel sad for the passing of Leon Russell.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm common:

hey joe, all
  1:07pm MrFab:

Such conflicting emotions: lovin the music, but sad about Mr Miller. Hope Miriam keeps Norton alive, it is one of America's greatest musical resources.
Avatar 1:12pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Underdogs reminding me (right now) of the Flamin' Groovies in high-energy mode!

  1:38pm Pete M:

Lots of love to Norton friends and family. Wonderful to hear all the thoughts and stories being shared.
Avatar 1:39pm Bronwyn Bishop:

I've never heard You Still Believe in Me and Drive-in combined before, that threw me for a loop :D
  1:40pm Dungaroos Kipawah:

Thank you fellas--a fitting send-off. I'm laughing and crying thru all this. Thank you BILLY! Thank you MIRIAM!! And yes, the Groovies version of "Sweet Little Rock
Avatar 1:41pm Bronwyn Bishop:

A little set of unusual Beach Boys covers? I'm in heaven now Joe
Avatar 1:42pm Carmichael:

@Dungaroos: the FMU app goes wonky when you use an ampersand in your text. I found out the hard way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm common:

very nice joe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Gaylord Fields:

Yeah!
Avatar 1:42pm Therese:

Joe, Todd and Ira, you are making me cry at my desk. I didn't know Billy well at all, but even as an observer, it was easy to see the enthusiasm and love he brought to everything he touched. Big love to you all and to Miriam and everyone in the Norton family.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Matt F:

A lot of simultaneous laughing/sobbing over here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Gaylord Fields:

I mean "Yeah!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm pinholga:

Hell yeah New Surfsiders! The only band that can make Kokomo palatable...
  1:48pm Bishop68:

I remember loading out after a FMU record fair, and Billy's pushing/pulling a few boxes out on a moving dolly. The sidewalk was busy with all the vendors pulling out. Billy waited on the guy ahead of him to move, just as a lady walking a small dog strolls past. The dog stops, smells Billy's boxes, and relieves itself on them. Not missing a beat,Billy looks down and smiles and says "Everyone's a critic!".
Avatar 1:51pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Oh - this is heartbreaking.
A life well-lived.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm Gaylord Fields:

I'd like to second Ira's point by saying that as much as Billy (and Miriam) showed up what music to love, their bigger contribution is showing us how to love music of all types.
  2:01pm johnk77:

david hodo is a good guy
and was very cool
even with a breeder like me;>
  2:01pm herb.nyc:

Thx for this great show. As Billy is also tuned into wfmu now, what do you think he'd be saying / thinking now?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Nate K.:

This is so great, Joe, Ira, and Todd. We should all be so lucky to get such a heartfelt tribute when our time comes. Not to mention live such an amazing life in the meantime.

  2:09pm Allen Larman:

Great tribute to one of the greats - Billy Miller! RIP Thanks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm Gaylord Fields:

@Bishop68: Billy had, without a doubt, one of the quickest wits of anyone I've ever known. I'd just marvel at how he always had the perfect quip for the most absurd situation.
  2:15pm Dennis Diken:

just beautiful guys. Todd, remember the night we all went to see Sam Butera and the Treniers in AC in '88? 3 sets each! great memory of a fine hang with Billy and the gang.
  2:16pm chad:

Dennis D- Billy told me a story about that once. "Cassettes... for the car!"
  2:29pm mary huhn:

i once referred to billy as billy norton in a article about a norton records release. he got a kick out of that -- and made jokes about other label founders, such as seymour sire. i will miss him.
  2:35pm Bluesman:

Share the story with the class boys!
  2:42pm Slaboch:

Such a great show!!!
