Joey the Sleaze:

@Fabio a few years back I called in to Clay's show and mentioned I was going to teach there and you shared some stories about Boody in the 70s.

We have a career day in March or so and if you are interested we would love having an alumnus of Boody to talk to students about owning a business in NYC.

@Cecile: No, there's not much info on the premium page. From his marathon playlists: Suicide Commandos, Skoal Kodiak, Ghostband, Larry Wish, Knife World, STNNNG, Cows, Hüsker Dü.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm
Polyus:

Larry Wish, huh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm
fred:

@RTD: I hope it's a dynamic ribbon, Justice Yeldham style
Avatar 4:02pm
Cecile:

OK. Skoal Kodiak is Freddy Votel from the Cow's band. The lead singer used to sing through a contact mic in a bleach bottle. STNNG were pretty intense. Haven' heard Ghostband or Larry Wish, don't remember if I heard Knife World.
Avatar 4:03pm
Cecile:

sorry Cows. Not the Cow's
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm
Polyus:

Knife World were pretty fun. Good live band.
Avatar 4:04pm
Cecile:

Suicide Commandos have a couple of really good songs, but I think I liked them better when I was in Michigan. I got here and they embodied that whole "oh you had to be there back in the day" vibe of this place.
Avatar 4:05pm
Cecile:

Were Knife World a kind of dance/new wave band with a lot of noise? Co-ed? If so, then I might have seen them. Skoal Kodiak were also fun, if I didn't mention that earlier.
Avatar 4:07pm
Cecile:

Is Sara Johnson the band on there, fred? I remember seeing them a couple of times and really liking them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm
fred:

"Back in the day" usually just means "back when I was young". Every day is a future "back in the day". I might as well load up on more of these, since mine where in the dreary 80's and I was too broke to enjoy them
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm
Polyus:

They were a guitar & drums duo at first, then added a bass player later. Really good players, they had a strong hint of both boogie and Meat Puppets, only even more spazzy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm
Polyus:

Avatar 4:09pm

OH. I remember them now. Roaratorio put out their record. I remember getting an MP3 of a song from that and liking that.

interesting guy : "Kent Tankred is a prominent name in sound art. Hailing from Stockholm, he was the president of the famous Fylkingen society between 1993-98, and forms Sons of God with Leif Elggren. He is known for his circuit bent instruments that are represented in the form of collages, sound installations and recordings. Kent's self-built apparatus will be an integral part of his live show at NZZN. Coinciding with this peformance, DE PLAYER will be presenting a new limited Kent Tankred record as part of their 'Pour Vous' series."
