hi there CS!

'sup Jules!

I like the kitty Roberto
Avatar 3:19am

Thanks, I like him too! I wish he would stop trying to steal my food though.

Julie always makes the insomnia more pleasant.....
Avatar 3:21am
C.S.:

Just like old times this time slot. Wish I could stay for the full 3 hours.
Avatar 3:23am
C.S.:

Broadcast. Thanks for the heads up about that tribute to Trish Keenan the other day, Julie.
Avatar 🦇 3:23am
Julie:

I have to re-listen to that at a quieter time of day.
Avatar 3:25am
C.S.:

I have to catch what I missed. I asked before on the other comments board but what genre does broadcast fall into if any?
Avatar 🦇 3:26am
Julie:

I really don't know what you'd call that. Wherever you put stereolab and belle and sebastian. perhaps it is chillwave
Avatar 3:27am
C.S.:

Really has a 60s sound to it. First time I heard them, I actually thought it was an old song from that time.
Avatar 🦇 3:29am
Julie:

like Stereolab it has a bit of a lounge-y quality to it.
Avatar 3:31am
C.S.:

Yes. I need to check out more from that band.
Avatar 🦇 3:32am
Julie:

WFMU turned me on to them, probably Irwin at that. They have a zillion cds.
Avatar 3:36am
northguineahills:

I always thought Broadcast somewhere in the nebulous region of British hauntology and post-continental cinematic lounges after splashing around in puddles of Stereolab.
Avatar 3:37am
northguineahills:

Wow, new Legendary Pink Dots!
Avatar 3:38am
C.S.:

Brilliant description northguineahills
Avatar 🦇 3:38am

They're touring, NorthGuinea, playing Brooklyn tomorrow (friday) night!
Avatar 🦇 3:39am
Julie:

Another band with infinite CD's
Avatar 3:48am
C.S.:

Whoa. I was just talking to a friend about how I really didn't fit with the times back in high school and we traded names of all the bad music that came out in the late 80s and early 90s. Fitting song.
Avatar 🦇 3:49am
Julie:

for me the 90s were filled with the ethereal gothy stuff coming out of Europe & on projekt and Juliana Hatfield and Liz!
Avatar 3:50am
northguineahills:

Crap, crap, crap! After 16 years, I just moved from Brooklyn b/c of a divorce and to get a job in an area where the income/cost-of-living ratio is more favorable for someone broke my age.... Probably won't see too many decent shows here in FL in the near future. Lack of an audience, and geographic inconvenience makes road trips up to Atlanta the best bet for most tours...
Avatar 3:50am
northguineahills:

Fairport's Tam Lin!
Avatar 3:51am

@Julie I missed all that great stuff and only started to find it in the early 2000s. Had I only known.
Avatar 🦇 3:51am

North, check their website..they've been going all over
Avatar 🦇 3:53am

I never get tired of this song!
Avatar 3:58am

Unfortunately, I'm down to my last $8, but I do have an interview for a fun good job next week, so, hopefully by next year I'll be able to see decent live music again.

Thank you Julie for todays playlist. It's very chilling on that very sad day for me.
