...kind of like my favorite dinosaur jr. song being a non-electric banjo based song, which it is.

George, no. his mysticism came later. when the beatles started he was very into music, but was shit-poor and had no lessons and a crappy instrument. he was into car & motorcycle racing and into girls. he liked to drink and could handle it better than the others.
he grew up with constant music in the house, but nothing formal.
...Paul played trumpet(?) and was following in his father's footsteps before meeting John. that song sculptor never left Paul. very little was not considered and reconsidered as to how it would be received by others.

Paul's experimentalism was genuine - the tape loops on Revolver, &tc. - which he would learn about from hanging w/ knowledgable ArtsyFartsy people. He was the one who would go to George Martin to really Learn about orchestras & Music Theory. His natural innate Musical ability is *staggering*.
John is the sort who would tell George Martin the feeling or color he expected in a Production - w/out any knowledge of Technique to get there. A little less responsible - but more Visionary...He drove them Forward obviously.
