Jazz is amazing...it is so full of a WIDE variety of musics..such as Insect Trust...that it always blows my mind. Last week I officially took off my Prog Rock blinders and now am exploring JAZZ...which is too cool beyond words I can write here. Wow. All art aspires to the condition of music somebody once said (heard that at Cooper Union)...

  3:17pm

Hell, yeah, that, too! I think of Ward Marston, whose work remastering old vocal recitals is amazing. And the folks at Berkeley who have managed to digitize unique and extremely fragile recordings (on wax, etc.) without injuring the originals.

Nice touch, Sem, the "I hear..." part.

I think it would be super-cool to watch an echo technician work....tools of the trade and experience at play. wow...very unusual...right now I am trying to help people invent new stuff and bring it to market...this is good music for that....I REALLY need to get a turntable to rescue old Jazz records for my collection...

I am second to none in my wish not to spend money needlessly, but rather than try to digitize my own vinyl, I would send it to a service (ReclaimMedia in Seattle is a good one) to digitize it for me.

Meanwhile, browse the adult fiction shelves, where you'll find Philip Roth's marvelously filthy "Sabbath's Theater," about which nobody makes a peep!
