Joel St. Germain:

Herb, that's cool! good band. I've never been to a funk show. I would kill to see Starpoint

The artwork on that “Red Gang” 12" is pretty amazing.
Avatar 11:24pm
Joel St. Germain:

definitely.. the production is cool too... just a corny corny corny song
  11:26pm
JakeGould:

@JoelStGermain: Well, yeah… But aren’t there tons of disco singles where the whole idea is, “We are a 1 hit wonder and we will push the limit of every 100% of that 1 hit we make to do make sure this really hits.” Or something like that.
Avatar 11:26pm
Joel St. Germain:

but hey, it's the fourth of july
Avatar 11:27pm
Joel St. Germain:

@Jake I guess.. but it's pop music. there is no pretense
  11:34pm
JakeGould:

Well, I’m just talking about “100% or GFTO.”
Avatar 11:36pm
Joel St. Germain:

I know, just messing with you. no offence but I don't get your point here.
  11:39pm
JakeGould:

I just mean, “We have one single we’re going to make so we’re just going to put a lot of effort into it…”
  11:40pm
JakeGould:

Whatever!
Avatar 11:41pm
Joel St. Germain:

On the one hand, that sounds more like punk/indie/underground ethos. on the other hand, disco is largely about the people behind the scenes ya know. so it's not as anonymous as it seems on the surface. but yeah they were all going for a hit for sure.
  11:41pm
JakeGould:

That said, I’m charmed by the ladies in “Red Gang” wearing dirty sneakers, but why are their sneakers dirty but the football player’s are clean. Could I have gotten an associate producer credit if I bought them new, clean sneakers?
  11:57pm
JakeGould:

Anyway, good show!
