Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:04pm
dale:

thumbs carlisle is pretty damn good, too!

Sam:

Question: What's with "a-startin'"? I get dropping the g on starting, it's easier, but then why add the a- prefix? Wouldn't it be easier just to say "starting" than "a-startin"? Not trying to be insulting, I'm legitimately curious about where that accent comes from.

JakeGould:

Oh flop.
  8:06pm
P-90:

Howdy Becky! Chaps a-floppin'!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07pm
Becky:

@Sam Ask Alex Battles. He's from Ohio.
  8:09pm
Sam:

Will do, ma'am
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11pm
Becky:

Funny story: I had a big event for work yesterday and was aired on WNYC speaking about it today. You wouldn't believe how many people contacted me saying "HEY, YOU'RE ON THE RADIO!" as if it were a novelty.

JakeGould:

Some people don’t get what WFMU is… So hey! But congrats!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22pm
Becky:

Some of them were WFMU listeners!

JakeGould:

@Becky: Then they need to tell you where the upside of their head is so you can smack it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27pm
dale:

this is NOT waylon?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28pm
dale:

it's gorgeous, none the less (is that one one word?).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31pm
Becky:

@dale It's not, and it's really hard to believe. According to Wendell's biography, he also did Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson impressions, but that's his natr'l voice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:44pm
dale:

i have no idea here you find so many great 45s. the hunt must be long and pricey.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:45pm
Becky:

@dale The great thing about collecting honky tonk records is that generally they are priced for the common man. Rockabilly, not so much.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46pm
dale:

rex probably pays through the probiscus.
  8:46pm
P-90:

1) "Hell Bound Train", great song title. OK song.
2) C'mon, spill it @Becky, what show were you on on WNYC yesterday? Your die-hard HTRG fans deserve to know.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:49pm
dale:

my guess is leonard lopate. can probably go find it in the archives.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51pm
Becky:

I actually have no idea. I haven't heard it yet myself!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:55pm
Becky:

This record is SO bad. I love it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56pm
dale:

this is pretty horrible. singers sound like they did the 'three's company' theme song.
  8:57pm
clem:

they're a flop
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:59pm
dale:

...but it was horrible in a cheesy good way.
  9:00pm
P-90:

Best guess IS Leonard Lopate. Unless it was brian Lehrer?
