Not like Carpenter's later synth-based stuff at all. The joke was that the astronauts stuck on this multi-year space mission would have to listen to this muzak on board. "When Moonlight Falls on NGC 891" is a Jetsons-ish joke about an old-fashioned big-band type song title with an astronomical reference thrown in.

Not like Carpenter's later synth-based stuff at all. The joke was that the astronauts stuck on this multi-year space mission would have to listen to this muzak on board. "When Moonlight Falls on NGC 891" is a Jetsons-ish joke about an old-fashioned big-band type song title with an astronomical reference thrown in.
